Job Description Manage all the different laboratory activities, including plan and execute experiments contribute to overall MLA/BMD strategies and goals for biomarker identifications and analysis at Novartis MLA center, Shanghai, China. Design, development, op-timization, qualification and implementation of bio-analytical assays. This includes planning and execution of various types of assay systems (e.g. enzymatic assays, immunoassay, biochemical assays, and biomarker as-say development) to quantify biomarker levels and activity in various matrices. Independently validate and interpret experiments in order to generate technical reports. Provide data processing, evaluation and result interpretation. Write laboratory note books, keep a clear experimental records and documentations. contribute to write data reports (Materials and Methods) and maintain laboratory supplies. Optimize existing laboratory methods and develop new techniques or approaches. Meet timeline for the projects. Perform maintenance on instruments and act as contact with equipment vendors. Maintain high laboratory practice standards and conduct activities in compliance with the FDA compliances and the company policies. Train temporary employees, graduate students and BM scientists. Handle multiple projects simultaneously and works in a fast-paced environment, collaborate with scientists within pre-clinical, clinical and other departments, and may also participate in key project teams. Strong interpersonal skills to communicate results to colleagues in a timely manner as well as provide oversight for activities at Contract Research Organizations. Experience with identification and evaluation a biomarkers in diversity matrixes, and with monoclonal antibody development and identification are highly desirable. Developed literature search skills.
